Inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe. This is Our Deaf Lady of Language Rights with different motifs shown on the painting.
The signing 'Deaf' is to show Deaf pride and as a Deaf person. There are broken chains on the wrist which means communication barrier has been freed.
ASL gown and twelve eyes shawl. The twelve eyes are to remember the first twelve deaf children who died from CI complicated surgeries. Hand rays with hand collaboration are the allies who join hands to protect our language rights. At the bottom of the painting shows AUDISM along the sides of mouths and ears that focuses on speech and listening.
