Description about the painting:
This painting shows a Deaf teacher going hunger strike for ASL. This happened with the first four Deaf hunger strikers at Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf where they fought for Deaf Children's Education Rights and 75% DEAF Board of Trustees with KNOWLEDGE in Deaf Education and Address in Abuse. There is a hunger striker chain, advocating in solidarity across the country.
In Hunger for ASL painting, see the large hand. I'm inspired by Francesco Goya's etching "Duendecitos." The big yellow hand is bigger than the right hand. This refers to the Deaf teacher, is begging for ASL and the audists are ignoring his STRONG desire and wish.
