Day 7, June 7th, painting of the series '30 Days in June Project.'
This painting relates to the story about Haves Have Nots, except for the Deaf Community that goes with Have, Have Little, Want More. The concept is very much like the Crab Theory and the bridge is broken in half. This is also about privilege and oppression in the Deaf community. The Deaf leader is on the right side alone, signing 'stand' and is facing to the right, and not looking at the Deaf people on the left. The Deaf people on the left, are from all backgrounds, diversity, young and old. Their hands wave, push, oppress, and wearing their own masks (cannot see their masks). Only hands are reaching out, like crabs are crawling. The bridge does not connect. The Deaf leader has pride and is standing on the bridge and does travel.
