Description about the painting:

This painting is Flying Words Project. Kenny Lerner came up with that name. Peter Cook is Deaf and Kenny Lerner is hearing. They were both influenced by a beat generation poetry workshop for the Deaf with Allen Ginsberg in Rochester, New York. Peter and Kenny then began collaborating in 1984 and the Flying Words Project was founded two years later. They work with poetry and make vivid images that attract to both hearing and Deaf viewers the same.
