Description about the painting:
This is a self-portrait called "Dot to Dot." It is a form of puzzle containing a sequence of numbered dots. I use the dot-to-dot method, to have someone to figure out what the self portrait would come out to be. Dot to dot method from the beginning to the end comes a person who happens to be me. Dot to dot is a new De’VIA motif for me. It means, that you have no idea what the painting is about until you follow the dots to figure out what it is. It is almost like me hiding in the painting until someone pulls me out of it. There is an Alexander Graham Bell elephant as I refer him, another De’VIA motif, because I grew up oral and have being oppressed for many years, and with the blue tapes motif on hands being wrapped around, I was not allowed to sign. Then, there is a hand fist with blue tape, meaning that I fought to overcome that colonialized feeling, being a "Dysconscious Audist." Then, there is a standing hand where I became an activist. there shows a standing hand where I became an artivist. a self portrait.
