Description:
The painting depicts rulers overlapped with timeline starting in 1880 during the Milan conference when sign language was first banned. From there, went on for years that came oral failures and rulers were marked five strikes each time a Deaf student get whacked for signing. The aged white hand shows popping veins from old wounds, scars and trauma. The rulers were kept in a teacher’s drawer.
