Description about the painting:

This painting is inspired by Betty G. Miller's ASL Prohibited. The eyehand is the 'rescuer,' to bring back ASL and the Deaf people were already punished and colonized by oral schools. Their hands were tied with painters blue tapes and then they were chopped off and thrown in a pile and left them there.
