People of the Eye Struggle

30 Days in June Project
People of the Eye Struggle 8 inch by 10 inch oil on stretched canvas SOLD click on image.

Description about the painting:

Day 4, June 4th, painting of the series '30 Days in June Project.' This painting is a thumbnail painting that will be painted on a 44inch by 80inch canvas. This is about the wounded Deaf horse who was badly whipped by the Second Wave of Oralism. The same concept as 'Whips a Dead Horse' as an idom, also from the previous painting that I did of 'AGBell Whips a Deaf Horse.' And then there is a hand, laying down and signing 'Culturally' about how the Deaf Culture is so precious that nothing can destroy or take away the Deaf Identity, their life, their language and their culture. There are cracks on the sign 'Culture', meaning the Deaf Culture has been oppressed by the professionals over and over. The bandaid is wrapped around one finger. The finger is yellow in color, means there is hope. Hope for the Deaf Culture Protection Act as what the author Edwin Black had recommended during his presentation in California in 2011. The eye flower on the palm 'C', means 'People of the Eye.' The flower is alive and standing strong for the Deaf Community. The water is still coming and pushing away and the red mountain is still growing preventing from the water coming.
