Description about the painting:

This is the second painting of the series '30 Days in June Project.' This painting is a thumbnail painting that will be painted on a 44inch by 72inch canvas. This is about the Deaf father crying that his Deaf son had a cochlear implant. He is the fourth generation of the Deaf family and his son is the fifth generation. He felt his own Deaf identity was taken, stolen and robbed by the 'professionals.'

The symbols in the painting show a yellow light shine upon the Deaf son, means Deaf people need light to see. The painter's blue tape refers to trapped and tied, ASL is prohibited, not allowed to sign and must learn to talk. The blue tape on the Deaf son's ear refers to scar that will always be there.
